Brennen Murray is the director of The Journey Home

Brennen Bissinger

Executive Director, LPN

Brennen has been a Licensed Practical nurse since 2007. She has been an in-home nurse for disabled children; school nurse and a clinic nurse at the cancer center and is now Executive Dir. at The Journey Home. Brennen has lived in Bartlesville since 2007.

Kristal Fowler is the volunteer and caregiver coordinator at The Journey Home

Kristal has been a caregiver for The Journey home since May of 2016. Initially, she went to school intending to be a teacher. But it was a personal experience that touched her heart to want to give back to the those at end of life instead. So now she is a part of TJH team and she lives in Bartlesville with her husband and four children.

Melissa Gibson is a caregiver at The Journey Home

Full-time Caregiver

Melissa is a native of Bartlesville. She lives with her husband of 15 years and their two children. After being a stay-at-home mom and self-employed housekeeper, she joined The Journey Home to find meaning in helping others.

Jane Hodges is a caregiver at The Journey Home

Caregiver, PRN

Jane is a Phillips 66 retiree with the majority of her career spent in an HR role. Jane had a personal family experience with The Journey Home which brought her to have a passion for our guests and families.  Jane has been on Journey Home staff as a PRN Caregiver for 3 years. Jane was raised in Caney, KS, and has lived in the Dewey/ Bartlesville area since 1996. She is the mother of 3 wonderful sons and grandmother to 5. Jane is also very involved in other community non-profits including Salvation Army and her church.

Saralyn Miller is a caregiver at The Journey Home

Full-time Caregiver

Saralyn has her CNA/CHHA and lives in Nowata with her three sons. She spent 17 years caring for mentally disabled adults before learning about the The Journey Home. The recent change in paths has renewed her sense of purpose in life and compassion by caring for those at the end of life’s journey. ​

Carrie Porta is a caregiver at The Journey Home

Caregiver, PRN

Carrie has been with TJH for almost a year. She started as PRN as a job to make a little extra money, and quickly realized this was where she needed to be. She fell in love with Hospice and everything it stands for. She is also an EMT, having started Paramedic school last January. Carrie has been married for eight years and has four beautiful kids ranging in age from 18 to 12.

Judy Schonherr is a caregiver at The Journey Home

Part-time Caregiver

Judy has spent the last 10 years taking care of the mentally disabled. A person who is full of compassion, she has both a CNA and an CMA. Judy was raised in Nowata and now makes her home there with her family when she’s not at The Journey Home caring for guests.

Karen Zink is a caregiver at The Journey Home

Part-time Caregiver

Karen has been at TJH for over a year now. She has an Associate's degree in radiology and used to work in mammography. She has lived in places from Alaska to Texas and has always tried to help people. In Texas, she managed a food pantry at her church and worked for the Salvation Army. She has been married for 32 years and has two sons and four grandsons.
